Things to see in Barcelona

Barcelona is the capital city of the Catalonia region of north eastern Spain. The city has a large number of cultural attractions including a historic old town, spectacular buildings – many of them designed by the architect Antoni Gaudi, the most famous of which is the unfinished Sagrada Familia. Barcelona has a vibrant nightlife, particularly in the narrow streets of the old town district.
Barcelona airport is located around 20 minutes to the south of the city centre. Additionally many low cost flights are available to which is around 1 hour to the north of Barcelona.
Here are a few ideas of places to visit in the historic city of Barcelona:

    • Parque Guell (spectacular views of Barcelona from the park designed by Gaudi)

    • Magic Fountains (check times for spectacular evening lightshows with music)
    • Casa Batlló (House of Bones – another Gaudi masterpiece)
    • Olympic Village (which can be visited by cable car)
    • Barceloneta (the main beach area of Barcelona)
